Using the unique colors of the bassoon and contrabassoon\, there is a conversation between these two instruments as they explore how an orange tree reminds us of our memories and creates a spacious\, and at times\, meditative state of reverence and memory.

SUMMARY:University of Portland Singers Perform “Two Immigrants” by Jenni Brandon
DESCRIPTION:University of Portland Singers\, under the direction of Dr. David De Lyser\, perform “Two Immigrants” by Jenni Brandon. The concert date is October 2\, 2022\, at 3:00 p.m. in the Buckley Center Auditorium\, University of Portland campus. Admission is Free \nThe University Singers is an auditioned\, mixed choir open by audition to all students across campus\, regardless of major. The choir rehearses MW\, 1:35–3:00 pm in the Buckley Center Auditorium. \nThe group performs 2-3 concerts per semester\, and their repertoire spans the entire historical spectrum of choral music\, from medieval motets to contemporary works by living composers. The choir also collaborates with the University of Portland Orchestra to present large chorus and orchestra works\, and also with other college\, civic and high school choirs in the area. In recent years the choir has toured to the Puget Sound area and the San Francisco Bay area. \nIt was truly an honor to write this work to celebrate the life and honor the family of Dr. and Mrs. Patzakis\, and to have the California School of the Arts – San Gabriel Valley Choir under the direction of Ryan Brown give the world premiere.
