SUMMARY:The United States Naval Academy Band Wind Trio Performs Jenni's "Found Objects: On the Beach"
DESCRIPTION:The United States Naval Academy Band Wind Trio (Musician 1st Class Emily Madsen on oboe\, Musician 1st Class Micahla Hendrix on bassoon\, and the group’s leader\, Chief Musician Sheila Cullen on clarinet.    ) performs Jenni’s “Found Objects: On The Beach”. The Wind Trio’s performance is part of the  Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic Association Annual Chamber Music Series at the The Lyceum\, 201 South Washington Street\, Alexandria\, Virginia. Each summer\, the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic Association sponsors a Chamber Music Series at The Lyceum in historic Old Town Alexandria\, VA. Celebrating its 28th year\, the Chamber series continues to provide a diverse array of classical music in an intimate setting. These weekly performances are free and open to the public. The performances feature small ensembles and soloists\, primarily from the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic and local arts community \nThe Naval Academy Band’s Wind Trio performs repertoire from Baroque and Classical standards\, French Impressionism\, modern American songs\, and works written by contemporary and local composers. Founded in 2016\, the primary duty of the ensemble is to perform for social functions hosted by the United States Naval Academy Superintendent at the historic Buchanan House. The group’s members also enjoy performing recitals for the community\, as well as providing music at events for the Brigade of Midshipmen. \nFound Objects: On the Beach for oboe\, clarinet\, and bassoon tells of finding objects on the beach – from tumbled stones to sea glass; from driftwood to black feathers on the sand and the seashells that populate the beach as far as the eye can see. A six-movement work approximately 23 minutes. Premiered by the PEN Trio (Nora Lewis-oboe\, Phillip Paglialonga-clarinet\, and Eric Van der Veer Varner-bassoon)\, this work is published by TrevCo Music Publishing on the new PEN Trio Collection Series! \n \n  \n  \n
