Hector BERLIOZ | Le carnival romain (Roman Carnival) Kick off the night with Berlioz’s explosive overture. It’s a brilliant display of orchestral color, capturing the festive madness and vibrant energy of a Roman street fair.
Jenni BRANDON | Fin de la Tierra: Land’s End Matt Vice, soloist Experience the atmospheric beauty of modern composition. Soloist Matt Vice leads us through this evocative work, inspired by the dramatic landscapes where the earth meets the sea.
WILLIAM WALTON | Viola Concerto Brian Jennings, soloist A cornerstone of the repertoire, Walton’s concerto balances soulful lyricism with sharp, rhythmic wit. Brian Jennings takes center stage to showcase the rich, chocolatey tones of the viola in this twentieth-century masterpiece.
Ottorino RESPIGHI | Pini di Roma (Pines of Rome) We conclude with Respighi’s cinematic tribute to the Eternal City. From the playful chatter of children at the Villa Borghese to the earth-shaking march of the Roman legions on the Appian Way, this is a sonic experience you won’t want to miss.

In this 19-minute concerto for Clarinet in B-flat with Chamber Orchestra, the diverse ecosystem of the Sea of Cortez and surrounding area is explored. The clarinet soloist serves as a guide, taking us on a journey through this UNESCO World Heritage site to observe the beauty and diversity of the landscape, the water, the animals that live in and around it, and their symbiotic relationship that requires a delicate balance of conservation and exploration.
