Smoky Quartz from Colored Stones, by Jenni Brandon, was performed by Martin J. Van Klompenberg at the Woodwind Days Faculty Concert, North Dakota State University, Challey School of Music. The concert was on Friday, October 11, 2024 in the Reinke Fine Arts Center, Fargo, ND 58108-6050. Smoky Quartz is An incredibly grounding stone, this smoky brown stone transforms and diffuses negative energy. The bassoon changes from a sense of grounding to playfulness, exploring this balance of energy. In the end, it always finds its way back to telling the story of the grounding quality of the stone.
