JoAnne Lundahl, clarinet, presents her DMA recital at the Glenn Korff School of Music at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, performing Jenni’s work “Fin de la Tierra: Land’s End” for Clarinet in B-flat and Piano. She is joined by Tierra Cassens on piano. This work will include a brand new collection of images to guide the listener on the journey through the Sea of Cortez, the landscape, and the beauty of Baja California Sur.

Fin de la Tierra: Land’s End for clarinet and piano:

In this 19-minute concerto for Clarinet in B-flat with Piano (version with chamber orchestra available), the diverse ecosystem of the Sea of Cortez and surrounding area is explored. The clarinet soloist serves as a guide, taking us on a journey through this UNESCO World Heritage site to observe the beauty and diversity of the landscape, the water, the animals that live in and around it, and their symbiotic relationship that requires a delicate balance of conservation and exploration.
